Yan Xia, MA (Chinese Area Advisor) joined the Department of FLL from Princeton University where she taught for six years. Recent publications of hers include: All things considered: Advanced Reader of Modern Chinese, Princeton University Press, 2000, and Short Stories in Ming Dynasty, Hong Kong University Press, 2007.

Jian Min Visting Lecturer in Chinese language, specializes in teaching Chinese as a second language. She receieved her B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Harbin Normal University in 2004. She received her M.A. in Applied Linguistics in 2009 from Beijing Normal University.

Yun Shi Visting Lecturer in Chinese language, specializes in teaching Chinese as a second language. She receieved her M.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Nankai University. She is doing her Ph.D in Asian Study in Heidelberg University.

Xiaoshen Zhang comes to SMU from the Chinese School at Middlebury College and Wesleyan University. She has been an instructor in Chinese language studies since 1997. Her Master’s degree was awarded from the College of Chinese Languages and Literatures at Beijing Normal University.
