Career Opportunities

Knowledge of Japanese expands your career opportunities. SMU graduates with majors in Asian Studies are currently working at various local industries, department stores, legal firms, and government agencies in the United States, as well as branch offices of American corporations in Japan. Some of them have been participating in the JET (Japanese Exchange of Teachers) program, supported by the Consulate General of Japan in Houston, teaching English at Japanese high schools.
