Placement Exam

Students who have had at least two years of Russian instruction in high school within the past two years, or who have acquired Russian language skills in some other manner, are required to take a placement examination if they wish to continue their language study.  (If the period of time which has elapsed since the language was previously studied is longer than two years, the test is not mandatory.) After a student has been placed into a Russian course and has completed the course with a grade of C or higher, s/he may request up to 12 hours of retroactive credit for the preceding courses in the beginning and intermediate sequence.

Native speakers should contact Professor Zimakova for placement tzimakov@smu.edu.
