Second-Year Spanish. Review of grammar. Discussions and compositions based
on literary and journalistic texts. Language laboratory. (Offered abroad;
replaced on campus by SPAN 2401.) Prerequisite: C- or better in SPAN 1402

2401. Intermediate Spanish I. The first semester of intermediate Spanish
will continue to strengthen the four language skills with added emphasis on
reading and writing. Students will focus on the following communicative
goals: describing, comparing, reacting and recommending, and narrating about
the past. Students attend two one-hour fundamentals classes plus three
one-hour practice sessions per week. Computer, video and audio assignments
in the Foreign Language Teaching Technology Center are required. Four
credits per term. All classes are conducted in Spanish. Prerequisite: C- or
better in SPAN 1402.
